Story

Lake Carezza is a small oligotrophic alpine lake situated beneath the Latemar massif in the municipality of Nova Levante. It is fed by underground springs, causing its water level, surface area and depth to vary considerably throughout the year. Low algae growth and pale Dolomite rock on the lakebed contribute to the clarity of its water. The lake is a protected natural monument, while the surrounding Latemar massif forms part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site.
